1939 AAS Winner. Best when pods are 4″ (10 cm.) to 5″ (12.5 cm.) long. Straight, deep green, spineless, ribbed pods grow 7″ (17.5 cm.) to 8″ (20 cm.) long, 1 1/2″ (3.75 cm.) wide. Prolific and of fine quality. Non-genetically engineered.


Culture: Sow indoors in late winter, plant outdoors in May. Water plentifully.

Harvest: Best when pods are 4″ (10 cm.) to 5″ (12.5 cm.) long.

Nutrition: One serving gives MDA of vitamin C; also high in vitamin A. 

Uses: Pods are cut up into stews, soups, catsup and other relishes to add flavor. Okra can be frozen.
